Jim
Cottrell, Club President
I have been flying PPC's since 1996, logged over 550 flight hrs,
with over 650 takeoffs and landings. I have flown 5 of
the major PPC units; Powrachute, Destiny, Buckeye, Six-Chuter and
Infinity. I currently own the finest PPC on the market, Powrachute
Pegasus.
I host a PPC Club called Eagle's Nest. We have 25 active
members with units. The best thing about an Active Club is
the information sharing, support of fellow flyers and
fun times.
Rick Klein, CFI - PPC
Rick Klein has been active in aviation since
receiving his Private Pilots license in 1975. He is rated in several
different aircraft. In August 2003, Rick began training in Powered
Parachutes, receiving his BFI (Basic Flight Instructor) status in
June 2004. Since then, he has gone on with his aviation education
and received his FAA Certified Flight Instructor’s license in March
2007.
So far, Rick has achieved a 100% success rate
in preparing students for their Sport Pilot FAA written exam. His
students have all gone on to achieve their goal of becoming Sports
Pilots on their first attempt. Instruction is provided in two parts,
including aerial work and ground school. Rick’s emphasis is
ensuring that the training process introduces students to the joys
of flight and is paced according to each person’s needs and skills.
Rick trains his students on his N-numbered
Powrachute Pegasus. For ease of training, his machine is fully
equipped with dual controls. This makes it possible for the student
to concentrate on one element of flying at a time. Powered
parachutes provide an opportunity for students to learn a safe,
simple way of enjoying the freedom of flight in its purest form.
Congratulations to these former students of
Rick’s, who have all achieved their Sport Pilot certification.
